Works around the home...

Inspiration for the things were changing around our home, pinterest is amazingly awesome! I am glad I can log on and just sift and browse for hours finding great pictures and things to do in my own home. I love designing and hopefully one day it will become my job career. If anyone reads this post and has any helpful hints on getting started please pretty please let me in on them! Our home is always a work in progress, hubby is overworked around here. He is worn out but wont stop until its finished. His work ethic is amazing! I feel bad for him though cause I am not much help when it comes to laying the floor. Plus we were so busy this past weekend it was my birthday and my mamma's this past week/weekend and we didn't get a chance to work on the floor. It is coming along though. Our exterior of our house is tan and we painted the shutters black and the front door red...changing it to black when we get our new door in :)

Red Doors and Lanterns Galore

Friday, July 27, 2012

Since we've started the floor reno, our laundry room doors(basic closet doors) have been off the hook lying on the guest room floor. I have been walking by them and each time thinking I could paint them to spruce them up a bit while off the hook. I am thinking a bold Red...the hallway is painted mega greige from sherwin williams and is trimmed in white, a pop of red would be fantastic I think, what about you? Here are my pins for inspiration below.. Also take a look at the lantern Chandy's. Now that we have moved our dining room table into the massive living room to break up the huge space and define it better, we need a chandy above our table. I am thinking of one of these below.

Mini Reno.....Welcoming a dirty house

Friday, July 20, 2012

These past few weeks at the Dyas residence have been a little chaotic, we started tearing a wall out in between the kitchen and living room. So now that we have almost completed that area, our hardwood floor is in. My hubby just has to get started which he is doing currently as I pretend to still be doing homework ;) I can't help but to stop and record the progress that is being made along the way.  Tomorrow bright and early he informs me we are starting to lay the hardwood. Tonight on the other hand we, he has torn out the carpet and the padding, plus all these annoying tacks everywhere in the floor. Prepping for our beautiful floor, enjoy the before of the living room below and more to come as we move through this process!

While I am sitting here pinning, blogging, and dreaming of the end result. Our floor is all in and it's screaming please get me down, or is that me in my head just hearing things :)

My new Etsy Shop

Monday, July 16, 2012

Its the beginning of a new day! Today I opened an Etsy shop, called Ninkerpie..... I know what your all thinking...where did that name come from?!? My daddy called me Ninkerpie for as long as I can remember and I happen to adore the name, it reminds me of my childhood, love, and just brings an overall sense of happiness to my soul! Check out my new chairs I put on the shop! I will add more as I find new goods to redo and make new!

Weekend Recap

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Hi Ya'll! Bringing out the inner Paula Deen within me! How was everyone's weekend? I got my homework all done in time so that I could spend a little time with the rest of my fam, while my hubby was away! Friday night I got home from work only to be blessed by my brother and his wife stopping by for some R&R with me. We of course talked about us all starting a lil ol' business someday, which continued into sat and sun! We always have wanted to, my brother just started an Etsy shop Vine street Vintage! I think if I get lucky enough he might let me feature some of my furniture I have been working on on his shop. I am so blessed to have such a creative amazing family! Saturday we spent the night out at my grandma Carter's. Which was a throwback to when we were growing up- My Uncle Paul and Aunt Barb came too.. My momma made her new recipe BBQ chicken salad, corn on the cob and saletti. Followed by fudge pops and watermelon with a dash of salt of course! Crazy? No raise your hand if you use salt on your watermelon??? My momma always did when I was growing up and she turned me onto it. At first I thought she was crazy but she was onto something let me tell you! We sat outside and listened to my brother Austin(talented music write and guitar player) his voice aint to bad either ;) play a couple of his new songs , melts my heart!! Wait until you hear them someday! Who woulda guess the night would have ended with a game of wiffle ball? That was the best part! Today, we headed to the flea market for some inspiration, what a great way to wrap up the weekend....now I am just waiting on my Hubby to get home to me!
